Nicole Johnson began her extensive dance training at the age of four at Talent Forum(Libertyville, IL), where she studied ballet, jazz, and contemporary extensively. While there she was a company member with Forum Dance Theatre under the direction of Eddy Ocampo. As a member, Nicole had opportunities to perform throughout the Chicago area and traveled to Austria, Germany, and Italy as a part of Young! Tanzommer Program. After graduation, Nicole was accepted into the University of Arizona Dance Program under scholarship. During her four years there she studied with James Clouser, Douglas Nielsen, Amy Ernst, Michael Williams, and Sam Watson. Immediately upon graduating from UA, with a B.F.A in dance, Nicole was asked to work with Eddy Ocampo and his company, LEVELdance. Now in in her third year with LEVEL, she is excited to see what new creations will develop. Nicole loves bringing her knowledge and creativity to various studios in the Chicagoland area and bonding with the wonderful students. When she's not dancing Nicole also works as a freelance dance photographer using the name Nehamashots. Her experience over the past eight years ranges from Dance photography, to Senior Photos. She has photographed for LEVELdance, Dance in the Parks, Atlanta Dance Collective, Elevations Dance Arts, Recitals, as well as, many local fashion brands.
